I know I’ve said it before, but I do so love radio.
There’s something about just having audio that works so well for me. I love inventing the faces behind the voices and extrapolating fictions behind the people speaking. I like not having any visual distractions (and I like having company while I wash the dishes).
My favourite radio interviews are the ones that feels like I’m eavesdropping on a most scintillating conversation. It takes a pretty special interviewer to get that intimacy and dig deeply into ideas and answers, and that’s just what host Kevin Caners did when I met up with him on the top floor of Hart House to tape this interview about The Love Lettering Project for CIUT’s The Public.
It was one of those mid-conversation revelations kind of interviews – rare and so much fun.
You can listen to the full interview here (and then hear Kevin’s chat with musician Jeremy Fisher!)
