Holy smokes! If you ever find yourself in London on Canada Day, put go to Trafalgar Square at the top of your to-do list. I’ve never seen a Canada Day celebration like it! It was a sea of red and white and the air was thick with maple syrup. There was poutine and pancakes, SO many hockey jerseys (and a street hockey tournament!) and folks trading the “where are you from?” question with such glee.
And I got to set up in a tent and ask people what they loved about Canada. And man alive, it was inspiring. Recurring themes included: maple syrup, snow, the kindness of our folk, freedom and Timbits.
