It’s no secret that I love biking. I bike year round (on my bike named Obie), in my crazy goretex pants that swish in the winter and in sundresses a-flying in the summer.
I love the freedom bikes afford. I love the feeling of zipping along, wind along my arms. And so, when I had the chance to partner up with Artspin, a bike-lead art tour of Toronto, I was ecstatic.
And so, on Thursday, we gathered in Trinity Bellwoods Park and wrote love letters to biking in Toronto. It was the most jam-packed letter-writing filled hour I’ve ever had in love lettering history. The enthusiasm and excitement and joy was truly incredible.
And then we all hopped on our bicyclettes and followed the song of a trumpet and wove our way through the streets of Toronto, bells dinging, and when it got dark, lights flashing like fireflies and saw art – visual art, music, the amazing Throwdown Collective’s dance piece “Boxset” in Sorauren Park.
It was a truly magical night in Toronto. It reminded me ten-fold of why I am in love with this city.
